Summary

E-board members expressed a desire to have increased communication amongst each other for accountability and bonding purposes.

  • Proposed Solution: virtual e-board check-ins every two weeks in which progress on assignments and concerns will be discussed.

  • Potential usage of Slack as a communication workspace with teams divided by “Channels.” E-board members expressed that introducing members to a new platform might cause confusion and be costly. Dr. Carrie W. (Faculty Advisor) expressed that should Slack be implemented, it would have to start in Fall 2020 to usher in new members in Spring 2021.

E-board members expressed a desire to have increased communication with General Members to encourage professional working relationships in the organization.

  • Proposed Solution: members will brainstorm creative communication strategies with Hafzah K. (Member Relations Chair) and then will present ideas to Sara M. & Morgan P. (Co-Presidents). Co-Presidents are open to all members brainstorming activities that would benefit the organization.

  • Monica B. (Secretary and WebMaster) said she would like to assist Hafzah K. with facilitating conversations in communication channels (Group Me).

Fatoumata F. (Event Coordinator) introduced tactics to increase member recruitment, member involvement, and co-connection with other organizations.

  • Proposed Solution: Fatoumata recommended that PRSSA – GSU co-plan events with professional organizations such as Alpha Kappa Psi, Pi (@akpsi_gsu) and more to diversify member sign-ups and increase publicity.

    • As a member of AKPSI, Fatoumata expressed she would be able to facilitate such a partnership.

  • Kennedy B. (Social Media Co-Chair) also expressed that she could facilitate a partnership with Her Campus – GSU (@hercampusgsu) to create a channel for PRSSA – GSU members to network and participate in engaging activities.

    • Members interested in assisting with Her Campus’ Pink Week should reach out to Kennedy B. via GroupMe!
