Opening Thoughts
The e-board had to split the meeting in two because of scheduling purposes; this week’s recap only reflects the second meeting that was had on Oct. 1.
Summary
Fatoumata (Event Coordinator) provided an update on the status of a proposed collaboration between PRSSA GSU and Alpha Kappa Psi. She is currently waiting on a response from Alpha Kappa Psi but has begun planning efforts. Fatoumata informed us that the proposed event would center around multiple workshops about professionalism. The proposed event would cover topics like interview attire and pitch writing. The event will be held virtually and is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 26.
Daniel (Social Media Co-Chair) informed us that the NABJ chapter of GSU would like to collaborate with us in the future.
Morgan (Co-President) provided an update on the status of the Spring 2021 e-board search. She created an application form for candidates that will be released to the public after Aicha (Publicity Chair) makes graphics to accompany it. Morgan expects all members of the e-board to share the application when it goes live.
Aisha was unable to attend this meeting but is in the process of finishing up graphics for the upcoming Resume Workshop on Oct. 20, as well as those for the e-board.
Morgan also recommended we host multiple organizations at our Resume Workshop to increase networking opportunities, foster relationships with other organizations, and to scout for the Spring 2021 e-board.
Kennedy and Daniel (Social Media Co-Chairs) agreed to edit the recording of last week’s General Body Meeting, per the request of Dr. Whitney (Faculty Advisor). The recording will be cut for brevity and to emphasize the highlights of the meeting. The video highlights will be published on IGTV, Stories, and the Feed.
Hafzah (Member Relations) provided an update on the status of her communication efforts. She is currently looking for webinars and other resources General Members could utilize. Monica (Secretary and WebMaster) and Jayana (Treasurer) will collaborate with Hafzah to ensure engagement amongst General Members.
Next Steps
E-board members should anticipate the release of the Spring 2021 e-board applicant form. In addition, members should be prepared to scout replacements and assist leadership in sharing the form.
E-board members should also expect a preparation meeting prior to the Resume Workshop which is tentatively set to Oct. 19.
